I haven't really used the "mesh as lightsource" option yet, so i can't really say how to set it up. Seeing how you lighted your screenshot, you're after lighting a scene with just your model. I'm currently using 3DS Max 2018 with the Arnold render engine and i know that the Arnold lights have an option to use a mesh (geometry) as a light source. ![]()
